Claims Field Consultant (Insurance Claims)

Location: Peterborough or Lincolnshire, UK. Remote working pattern with frequent travel to sites in Halifax, Leeds and South Wales, as well as customer home visits for events, training and face-to-face support.

Salary: Minimum starting salary of £61,344 per year; final salary is discussed at interview based on experience and location.

What you will do

• Manage property insurance claims up to £50,000 through remote handling and customer home visits.
• Validate and resolve claims across policy coverage areas while managing customer expectations and controlling costs.
• Assess building damage, complete first-visit scoping and create accurate repair schedules.
• Collect and analyse site inspection data, photographs, videos and other evidence to support claim validation and settlement.
• Identify customer vulnerabilities, create action plans and provide tailored claims settlement solutions.
• Collaborate with Hybrid Claim Owners, suppliers and colleagues across the Hybrid Claims Unit to progress customer claims.

Requirements

• General insurance claims experience with detailed knowledge of insurance policies and claims-handling philosophies.
• Knowledge of building construction techniques, common building defects and required repairs.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety requirements for site work.
• Full and current driving licence.
• Strong oral and written communication skills across face-to-face, telephone, digital and virtual channels.
• High personal organisation, workload management and experience managing claims caseloads during peak volumes.

Nice to have

• Insurance claims qualifications such as CII or CILA, or willingness to undertake them.
• Previous home-working experience.
