TL;DR
Senior Staff Engineer Analog Mixed-Signal Design - Optical (RF/Analog and Optical ICs): Designing and validating multi-tens-of-GHz transimpedance amplifiers, broadband analog circuits, and optical front-end receivers with an accent on SiGe BiCMOS, FinFET CMOS, and millimeter-wave structures. Focus on transistor-level design, chip tape-out and lab evaluation, correlating simulations with measurements, and supporting post-silicon validation through mass production.

Salary: CAD 133,600–178,100 per annum

What you will do

  • Design and validate multi-tens-of-GHz transimpedance amplifiers for coherent long-haul, metro, and PAM4 data center systems.
  • Develop high-performance broadband analog circuits for optical front-end receivers using SiGe BiCMOS and FinFET CMOS technologies.
  • Design transmission-line and other millimeter-wave structures to improve circuit performance.
  • Develop analog circuits including linear regulators, automatic gain-control loops, current and voltage sensors, and bandgaps.
  • Measure IC performance, debug designs, and correlate simulation results with laboratory measurements.
  • Collaborate on post-silicon validation, qualification, mass production transition, and customer support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of industry experience, or a Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering with 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience designing high-performance RF/analog receivers or transimpedance amplifiers, including chip tape-out and laboratory evaluation.
  • Experience using EDA CAD tools and performing analog custom layout.
  • Strong knowledge of transistor-level design, device physics, and control or feedback-loop stability analysis.
  • Experience with IC performance measurement, design debugging, package-system integration, and different semiconductor technologies.
  • Must be eligible to access export-controlled technology or software under applicable U.S. export control regulations; an export license review may be required.

Nice to have

  • Experience with automatic gain-control loops, precision analog circuits, continuous-time linear equalizers, DACs, or ADCs.
  • Experience mentoring junior circuit designers or serving as a chip lead.
  • Experience taking chips through successful silicon validation and mass production.
  • Ability to translate chip-level specifications into architecture.
