Fall 2026 Ecological Intern (Field Ecology)

What you will do

• Collect field data with ecology and environmental science teams.
• Support wetland vegetation monitoring and wetland delineations.
• Assist with listed species surveys and gopher tortoise relocations.
• Contribute to the development of project deliverables.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in ecology, environmental science, biology, botany, or a related natural science field.
• Working knowledge of ecosystems in the southeastern United States.
• Ability to identify plants, especially wetland species, and wildlife listed by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
• Availability for at least one day per week and a minimum of eight hours per week.
• Availability for irregular scheduled hours, including early mornings and long or short workdays.
• Ability to traverse wetlands and unfavorable conditions and carry up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 80 pounds occasionally, with or without accommodation.
