On-Call Archaeological Field Technician (Southeast US)

Location: Atlanta, Georgia, United States of America; field work throughout the Southeastern United States

Salary: $46,004.00–$78,207.00 annually based on full-time employment

What you will do

• Assist senior archaeologists and historians with archaeological survey and excavation field work.
• Conduct field work in remote locations and varied environmental conditions.
• Perform artifact analysis and maintain accurate field notes and records.
• Follow consistent archaeological procedures and field protocols.
• Use GPS technologies and MS Office tools to support field documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a related discipline.
• Valid driver’s license and successful completion of a Motor Vehicle Records check.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including in high temperatures.
• Strong field skills, communication skills, and record-keeping abilities.
• Experience with archaeological survey and excavation is preferred, particularly in the Southeastern United States.
• Local candidates residing in the Southeast are highly preferred.
