AI Architect (Healthcare AI)

Location: Remote - US; up to 10% domestic travel. Initial on-site onboarding at a designated company location is required. Relocation assistance is not authorized.

Salary: $184,400–$253,550 annually, including base pay and variable incentive pay if eligible.

What you will do

• Architect and develop scalable AI platforms supporting large language models for healthcare-specific language, regulatory requirements, and ethical considerations.
• Build frameworks and pipelines for structured and unstructured healthcare data, including FHIR, HL7, clinical notes, and claims data.
• Develop AI architectures supporting clinical decision-making, revenue cycle management, and patient engagement.
• Serve as the technical authority for AI platform development and mentor AI designers and engineers through reviews, research guidance, and workshops.
• Implement model evaluation, observability, logging, and LLM/agent tracing for accuracy, robustness, fairness, token usage, and latency.
• Partner with engineering to move research prototypes into highly available production environments while meeting HIPAA and HITRUST requirements.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, or a related field plus 10+ years of AI/ML platform development experience, or 15+ years of AI/software engineering experience with 10+ years building AI/ML platforms.
• Proficiency in Python and modern machine learning libraries, including PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face, LangChain, and LlamaIndex.
• Experience with generative AI, LLMs, transformer architectures, model routing, autonomous agents, A2A communication protocols, and MCP.
• Deep experience building enterprise RAG systems, including advanced chunking, hybrid search, vector databases, retrieval optimization, and agent context management.
• Background in cloud and on-premises deployments, scalable systems, MLOps/LLMOps, observability, and production AI platforms.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employment visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience with knowledge graph, NoSQL, SQL, and vector databases, including GraphRAG and hybrid retrieval architectures.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, multi-agent orchestration frameworks, and LLM evaluation tools such as Ragas, TruLens, or LLM-as-a-Judge.
• Knowledge of LoRA, PEFT, model distillation, AI guardrails, prompt injection defenses, and output validation.
