TL;DR
API Integration Consultant (REST/SOAP APIs): Leading customer and partner API integration projects, translating requirements into feasible solutions, and managing API certification across the accounting and financial software ecosystem with an accent on API testing, authentication, and stakeholder consulting. Focus on troubleshooting complex integrations, validating API behavior, guiding go/no-go certification decisions, and shaping product improvements with Product Management and Development.
Location: Remote-first with one fixed office day per week in Hoevelaken, the Netherlands, or Ghent/Hasselt, Belgium

What you will do
- Lead API integration projects for customers and partners in the Netherlands.
- Manage API certification programs, including planning, testing, validation, partner guidance, and go/no-go decisions.
- Analyze integration requirements, advise on API solutions and best practices, and troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Translate customer feedback and API functionality gaps into product improvements and roadmap input.
- Collaborate with Development, Product Management, and Sales on technical feasibility, implementation approaches, pre-sales, and integration risks.
- Contribute to regional API standards, knowledge sharing, and certification process improvement across Belgium, the Netherlands, and the UK.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in API integrations and/or technical consulting.
- Experience working cross-functionally with Product Management, Development, and Sales.
- Fluent English and Dutch, with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Hands-on knowledge of REST and SOAP APIs, request/response structures, JSON, and XML.
- Experience with OAuth2, API keys, and API testing tools such as Postman and cURL.
- Analytical, proactive, and solution-oriented approach.
Nice to have
- Basic programming knowledge in JavaScript, Python, or C#.
- Experience troubleshooting complex integrations.
- Experience in a SaaS or platform-based environment and international collaboration.
