Licensed Counselor (OBOT)

Location: On-site in Knoxville, Tennessee, USA; Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Salary: $30.00 per hour

What you will do

• Provide individual and group counseling for patients recovering from drug and alcohol disorders.
• Guide new and returning patients through intake and orientation.
• Develop, update, and maintain individualized treatment plans and accurate patient records.
• Assess patients’ social, educational, economic, and vocational needs and connect them with community resources.
• Follow up on referrals, respond to crisis situations, and complete required documentation.
• Maintain an inclusive, respectful care environment and comply with federal, state, and local requirements.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or higher required.
• Must be working toward licensure as an LPC, LPCC, LMFT, LMSW, or LCSW.
• The licensure exam must be scheduled and completed within the first year of employment if not already licensed.
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive matters with sound judgment.
• Ability to work with patients and colleagues in stressful situations and seek supervisory direction when needed.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment with potential exposure to infectious diseases and bloodborne pathogens, using PPE when required.

Nice to have

• Behavioral health experience.
• Knowledge of substance abuse populations, treatment planning, and human social services.
• Understanding of human behavior and rehabilitation of patients with drug dependence.
