Licensed Therapist, Substance Use Disorders

Location: Remote within the United States; an unrestricted psychotherapy license in Texas, California, or Pennsylvania is required. The role is fully remote, with optional participation in a hybrid workforce.

Salary: $75,000–$80,000 annually, plus potential performance-based bonuses and benefits.

What you will do

• Deliver evidence-based psychotherapy for adults with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions.
• Conduct substance use, relapse, withdrawal, safety, and recovery-support assessments to inform individualized care.
• Develop person-centered, ASAM-informed treatment plans and recommend appropriate levels of care or referrals.
• Provide safety planning, crisis intervention, measurement-based care, and progress monitoring.
• Collaborate with medication managers, Specialty Care Navigators, Peer Recovery Specialists, and prescribing clinicians.
• Maintain clinical documentation, complete required training, attend clinical meetings, and monitor quality metrics.

Requirements

• Unrestricted psychotherapy license in Texas, California, or Pennsylvania; licensed supervision is not accepted.
• At least two years of post-licensed experience and at least two years providing psychotherapy for substance use disorders.
• Availability for a full 40-hour work week and an average caseload of 30 sessions per week.
• Training in Motivational Interviewing or MET and additional evidence-based SUD interventions such as CBT, relapse prevention, or contingency management.
• Ability to work with clients across all stages of change, including active substance use, harm reduction, and abstinence-based recovery.
• Telehealth competence and confidence with risk assessment, safety planning, integrated care, and collaboration with prescribing clinicians.

Nice to have

• Experience treating PTSD with Cognitive Processing Therapy or Prolonged Exposure.
• Experience in integrated behavioral health, collaborative care, or multidisciplinary treatment settings.
• Training in ASAM Criteria or measurement-based addiction-care tools.
• Willingness to obtain additional state licenses with hirify.global sponsorship.
• Experience treating children, adolescents, couples, or families; availability for nights or weekends; or experience in a mental health technology startup.
