Weekend Anchor/Reporter, NBC4 Washington

Location: Required on-site in Washington, DC at an hirify.global-designated worksite

Salary: $110,000–$130,000 yearly

What you will do

• Enterprise, report, write, shoot, edit, and produce breaking news, general news, sports, and feature stories.
• Anchor assigned shows and present stories live from studio and field locations.
• Conduct interviews, field-produce stories, and work independently as a one-person multimedia journalist.
• Develop and pitch story ideas while building sources for exclusive local news coverage.
• Create complementary content for the station website, mobile applications, and social media platforms.
• Collaborate with producers, news managers, assignment editors, reporters, and anchors.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience as a television or multimedia reporter.
• At least 2 years of experience in newsgathering, reporting or production, including writing, producing, and desktop editing.
• Strong news judgment, writing, critical thinking, communication, and investigative skills.
• Experience with digital shooting, digital cameras, non-linear editing, and social media as a news-gathering tool.
• Must be willing to work in Washington, DC and have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
• Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Nice to have

• BS or BA in Journalism, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience with Dalet.
• Spanish language skills.
