Senior Supervisor, Field Engineering Design (Hybrid Schedule)

Location: Hybrid schedule based in Newtown, Stamford, Norwalk, Torrington, or Waterbury, Connecticut, United States; at least three days per week in the office, with availability to work five days in the office when required. Travel between Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire may be necessary.

Salary: $140,930–$156,590 annually, plus potential incentive.

What you will do

• Lead, supervise, coach, and develop field engineering designers and technical staff.
• Assign and prioritize engineering work for customer requests, maintenance, construction, reliability, highway relocation, and special projects.
• Oversee preliminary and detailed distribution engineering designs, estimates, work orders, resource allocation, and construction coordination.
• Coordinate multiple engineering projects, programs, committees, and cross-functional initiatives from inception through completion.
• Ensure designs comply with engineering standards, safety requirements, environmental practices, tariffs, and applicable regulations.
• Support regulatory assignments, interrogatories, tariff updates, technical investigations, storm response, and testimony regarding customer service, reliability, or billing concerns.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; engineering or engineering technology from an ABET-accredited institution is preferred.
• Eight to ten years of related experience, including three to five years in a supervisory or management role.
• Strong knowledge of electric distribution standards, engineering specifications, tariffs, policies, procedures, and applicable codes.
• Knowledge of the National Electrical Safety Code and National Electrical Code.
• Strong communication, judgment, analytical, leadership, employee-relations, and customer-service skills.
• Valid driver’s license and availability for emergency restoration assignments and travel between MA, CT, and NH.

Nice to have

• Experience in the utility sector or with electric distribution systems.
• Knowledge of data analytics and AI-related tools.
• Experience with Eversource systems such as Maximo, DARS, Outage Management System, OMA, Workday, Workforce, Power Plan, and Power BI.
