Senior Manager, Utility Contracts

Location: On-site in Dallas, TX or San Francisco, CA; relocation to either location is possible

Salary: $155,000–$185,000+ annual bonus, plus Restricted Stock Units

What you will do

• Lead negotiations for utility construction, operating, transfer, and infrastructure agreements and amendments.
• Manage project obligation matrices, including contractual citations, deadlines, owners, status, reports, forecasts, certifications, and payments.
• Translate utility tariffs, connection requirements, metering and interconnection specifications, and NERC/RTO reliability obligations into requirements for engineering and operations.
• Manage contractual obligations for customer-build programs, including design submittals, procurement compliance, commissioning, title transfers, easements, land rights, and closeout.
• Coordinate utility agreement matters across real estate, power engineering, legal, finance, project teams, and data center tenants.
• Report obligation status, upcoming deadlines, counterparty performance, and contract risks to leadership.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in the electric utility sector or in negotiating and managing utility agreements for large customers or developers.
• Direct experience with large-load interconnection, energy or electric service agreements, and utility construction agreements.
• Strong knowledge of utility tariffs, end-user connection requirements, interconnection processes, metering standards, NERC standards, and RTO/ISO requirements such as MISO, ERCOT, or CAISO large-load rules.
• Hands-on familiarity with the engineering, procurement, and construction lifecycle, including design reviews, procurement standards, commissioning, and project closeout.
• Demonstrated success negotiating complex infrastructure agreements and managing contractual obligations with exceptional organization and attention to detail.
• Must be based in or willing to relocate to Dallas, TX or San Francisco, CA.

Nice to have

• Experience with hyperscale data center, large industrial, or other large-load development projects.
• Familiarity with behind-the-meter or bring-your-own-capacity structures, customer-build lead lines, or utility asset transfer agreements.
• Experience implementing contract lifecycle management or obligation-tracking tools.
• Utility regulatory experience, including state commission proceedings and tariff filings.
