Electrical Field Engineer

Location: Remote - US; preferred locations include TX, AZ, CO, LA, MO, UT, and NV. Minimum 50% travel to assigned construction sites and 24/7 on-call support are required.

Salary: $196,000–$235,000 annually plus bonus and Restricted Stock Units.

What you will do

• Support installation, quality assurance, functional checkout, testing, and commissioning of medium- and low-voltage switchgear, transformers, switchboards, protection and control systems, UPS systems, and data center electrical equipment.
• Monitor advanced backup and power-conditioning systems, including medium-voltage UPS, generators, and battery energy storage systems.
• Support substation protection management, temporary power, electrical switching, and the RFI process.
• Track construction progress against milestones, the Basis of Design, and engineering specifications.
• Resolve RFIs and Field Engineering Directives between contractors and internal design teams, and capture lessons learned for future specifications and templates.
• Support commissioning levels 1–5 with the commissioning team and champion electrical safety with construction partners.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience in mission-critical environments supporting construction or operations.
• Practical expertise in electrical power distribution equipment assembly and installation.
• Hands-on experience with construction sites and third-party general contractors and electrical subcontractors.
• Strong project management, troubleshooting, and code-compliant solution implementation skills.
• Ability to travel frequently or spend at least 50% of the time on site, with 24/7 on-call support.

Nice to have

• Professional Engineer license or EIT certification.
• Experience installing high-density racks and related electrical infrastructure.
• Mega-project experience in mission-critical or heavy-industry construction.
• PMP, OSHA 30, or equivalent safety certifications.
