TL;DR

Location: On-site in Everett, Washington, United States

Salary: $200,000–$240,000 per year

What you will do

  • Lead the architecture and design of electrical subsystems for next-generation fusion machines.
  • Define, maintain, and own system and subsystem requirements with traceability from top-level objectives to implemented hardware.
  • Develop and maintain Interface Control Documents covering electrical, controls, and mechanical interfaces between subsystems and suppliers.
  • Plan and execute verification activities, including testing, hardware bring-up, prototyping, and troubleshooting.
  • Own the integration of new hardware and subsystems during development and commissioning.
  • Drive collaboration across electrical, controls, mechanical, and test teams while mentoring junior engineers and improving engineering processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in electrical systems engineering, integration, testing, or hardware development.
  • Experience leading system or subsystem architecture and defining electrical subsystem interactions.
  • Proven experience owning technical requirements and Interface Control Documents.
  • Expertise reading electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and interconnect documentation.
  • Hands-on experience with hardware bring-up, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, system safety, reliability methods, and cross-disciplinary engineering leadership.

Nice to have

  • Experience in aerospace, automotive, robotics, energy systems, or other safety-critical industries.
  • Experience with large-scale electrical hardware, power distribution, sensing, controls integration, and high-voltage or high-current systems.
  • Knowledge of requirements management and PLM tools such as Flow, Jama, DOORS, Teamcenter, or Confluence.
  • Experience with system-level integration testing, instrumentation, automation, data analysis, or electrical interconnect standards such as IPC/WHMA-A-620.
  • Experience leading hardware development from concept through deployment with suppliers and cross-disciplinary teams.
