Field Engineer

Location: Sarasota, Florida, United States; must be located there or willing to relocate to the Sarasota area. Remote work with daily client visits is required.

What you will do

• Conduct safety and non-safety certification inspections, audits, and field evaluations.
• Analyze examination and test results against UL requirements and determine the impact of noncompliance.
• Review manufacturers’ production, inspection, shipping, and quality records.
• Evaluate corrective actions and communicate with manufacturers, customers, and authorities having jurisdiction.
• Use and verify calibration of inspection instruments, including micrometers, voltmeters, and ammeters.
• Document findings, test results, schedules, and expenses while applying continuous improvement techniques.

Requirements

• Degree or equivalent technical certification in engineering, engineering technology, industrial or manufacturing technology, or physics.
• General electronics knowledge, strong mechanical and technical aptitude, and the ability to read schematic diagrams.
• Strong written and verbal communication, client-interfacing, computer, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to work at heights and travel locally and regionally for client visits, training, and workload support.
• Ability to understand client business needs and cross-sell services.

Nice to have

• Experience in field engineering, compliance, or quality engineering.
• ASQ certification.
• Experience with UL Standards, UL 508A, or industrial control panels.
• Lightning protection experience.
