Lead Engineer, Grid Operations Technology- Operations Support (Hybrid Schedule)

Location: Manchester, New Hampshire, United States; hybrid schedule with at least three days per week in the office, including Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Employees must be able to work up to five days in the office when required and travel between Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire.

Salary: $145,670–$161,860 annually, with potential incentive eligibility.

What you will do

• Lead engineers supporting electric control-center operators through optimization of Distribution Management System functionality.
• Oversee DMS implementation, maintenance, specifications, and configuration of advanced applications including FLISR, LVM, AFR, and load and generation scheduling.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams across distribution engineering, system planning, operations, IT, telecommunications, regulatory, legal, and field operations.
• Manage grid modernization project scope, budgets, schedules, approval documentation, risks, reporting, and stakeholder engagement.
• Research and assess emerging technologies for distribution-system modernization, control rooms, DER dispatching, energy storage, microgrids, and Volt/Var optimization.
• Develop data-processing tools and engineering models, represent modernization initiatives externally, and act for the Manager of Grid Operations Technology when needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Eight to ten years of technical, operational, or engineering experience in the electrical utility industry.
• Thorough knowledge of DMS, OMS, GIS, SCADA, EMS, and Synergi/Cyme, plus basic knowledge of DNP and SCADA communications protocols.
• Experience modeling electric distribution systems and manipulating large datasets for engineering analysis.
• Strong analytical, communication, presentation, leadership, project-management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Visa sponsorship is not available; applicants requiring immigration-related sponsorship to start employment will not be considered. A valid driver’s license and availability for travel and emergency restoration assignments are required.
