TL;DR
Materials & Logistics Lead (Manufacturing Supply Chain): Leading materials handling, warehousing, inventory control, and internal logistics operations in an onsite manufacturing environment with an accent on production support, inventory accuracy, and cross-functional coordination. Focus on optimizing material flow, driving continuous improvement, managing operational KPIs, and developing a high-performing logistics team.

Location: Onsite in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada

What you will do

  • Lead and develop the Materials & Logistics team through coaching, training, and performance management.
  • Oversee material handling, warehousing, shipping, receiving, and internal logistics to support production and customer requirements.
  • Manage material replenishment, inventory control, cycle counting, transaction accuracy, and variance resolution.
  • Partner with Production, Planning, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Finance to prioritize requirements and resolve operational issues.
  • Monitor operational KPIs covering inventory accuracy, material availability, productivity, service levels, and performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement in material flow, warehouse utilization, inventory management, standard work, and process compliance.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in materials management, warehousing, inventory control, logistics, or supply chain operations in manufacturing.
  • 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience with responsibility for team development and accountability.
  • Strong knowledge of material management, inventory control, material planning, and production support processes.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems, inventory transaction management, operational KPIs, and structured quality management systems such as ISO.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident in Canada and able to consent to a Controlled Goods security assessment.

Nice to have

  • SAP experience.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
