Manager, Transmission System Planning (Electrical Engineering)

Location: Westwood, Massachusetts, United States; hybrid schedule

Salary: $176,920–$196,580 annually, plus potential incentive

hirify.global operates an electric transmission system serving a three-state territory in New England.

What you will do

• Manage transmission system planning compliance with state, regional, and NERC standards, regulations, and environmental programs.
• Lead long-term transmission system adequacy and reliability assessments, including defining the need, scope, location, timing, and justification of major projects.
• Oversee transmission planning models and tools, including power-flow, stability, EMT, and GMD models.
• Develop transmission planning strategies and lead projects through ISO-NE working groups, NEPOOL or RTO committees, and NPCC processes.
• Prepare regulatory filings, testimony, written responses, and presentations for local, state, and federal proceedings.
• Supervise, coach, and develop staff while managing team goals, programs, performance objectives, and budgets.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering; an advanced degree is preferred.
• At least 10 years of experience in transmission system planning or a related field.
• Thorough knowledge of electric transmission planning, power system analysis applications, modeling, operations support, project analysis, budgeting, and cross-functional communication.
• Deep knowledge of NERC, NPCC, and ISO-NE compliance requirements, reliability standards, and planning and operating procedures.
• Familiarity with FERC Order 1920 and transmission regulations in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire.
