What you will do

• Lead transmission line designs from conceptual engineering through final design, including conductor sizing, induction, impedance, losses, and voltage drop analysis.
• Provide technical direction to design staff and perform engineering studies covering conductor economics, lightning performance, grounding, and electrical clearances.
• Apply NERC, FERC, NESC, and regional standards to ensure compliant project deliverables.
• Prepare and review specifications, data sheets, RFQs, bid evaluations, vendor drawings, and purchase recommendations.
• Collaborate with project managers on scopes, schedules, budgets, staffing, construction support, and change orders.
• Perform QA/QC, field inspections, construction reviews, technical reporting, and client and contractor coordination.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Civil, Mechanical, Power Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of transmission line engineering experience.
• At least 5 years of experience with an electric utility, EPC, or engineering consulting firm.
• At least 5 years of experience working with PLS-CADD.
• Ability to work independently from a home office and communicate effectively across disciplines.
• Experience with technical leadership, mentoring, and quality-focused delivery.

Nice to have

• People management and mentorship experience.
• Knowledge of IEEE, ANSI, FERC-881, and FAC-008 standards.
• Experience reviewing work for quality assurance and managing assignments to budget and schedule.
