Sr. Manager, AI Engineering

Location: Remote within the U.S.; must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future employer sponsorship.

Salary: $210K–$247K base salary, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead, coach, and grow a senior team covering platform engineering and technical program management.
• Own identity, authentication, permissions, integrations, and guardrails for internal AI tools.
• Build AI cost engineering capabilities, including usage attribution, model right-sizing, budget thresholds, and alerting.
• Govern the internal MCP layer and create secure, lifecycle-managed deployment patterns for internal applications.
• Develop registries, evaluation frameworks, and enablement programs that improve responsible AI adoption.
• Define the Corporate Engineering charter and coordinate priorities across Engineering, GRC, Security, Data, Finance, and People.

Requirements

• Experience establishing an internal AI or developer platform function from the ground up, including charter, intake, and roadmap definition.
• Strong AI cost engineering knowledge covering usage attribution, token economics, model right-sizing, and agent cost traceability.
• Hands-on technical depth in LLM platform tooling, agent and MCP architecture, identity and OAuth, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code.
• Experience with data governance in regulated environments and the ability to apply responsible security and privacy judgment.
• 8+ years in platform, infrastructure, or systems engineering, including 3+ years managing and developing engineers.
• U.S. work authorization is required without current or future employer sponsorship.

• Experience at a company that scaled through a significant headcount inflection.
• Experience building platforms for non-engineering users without lowering security standards.
