Software Engineering Manager – Remote Services (AI)

What you will do

• Lead, coach, hire, and develop a hands-on full-stack software engineering team.
• Set technical direction for front-end applications, back-end services, APIs, and microservices while contributing code, prototypes, and design and code reviews.
• Own roadmap development, backlog refinement, release planning, capacity management, and delivery dependencies for the remote services portfolio.
• Establish standards for automated testing, CI/CD, observability, production readiness, compliance, and platform security.
• Drive incident response and root-cause resolution across the technology stack.
• Develop AI-first engineering practices, evaluate coding assistants and agentic workflows, and define guardrails for secure AI-assisted delivery.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
• 8+ years of relevant software engineering experience, including recent hands-on coding.
• 3+ years of experience leading or managing software engineering teams while remaining technically hands-on.
• Experience with cloud-native applications, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of modern web technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Angular, and React.
• Understanding of remote access protocols, VPNs, security practices, Agile, Clean Code, and XP methods.

Nice to have

• Experience using AI to accelerate individual and team software engineering delivery.
• Experience defining standards for AI-assisted development, including prompt and context practices, review of AI-generated changes, and security review.
