Salary: $137,000–$270,000 USD per year for U.S.-based candidates

What you will do

• Own the Forward Deployed Engineering organization's engagement strategy and serve as the primary technical escalation point for high-risk and ambiguous situations.
• Advise customer executives and internal executive stakeholders on strategic technical bets, major risks, and cross-portfolio tradeoffs.
• Set architecture standards, design principles, and multi-quarter technical strategy for customer-facing solutions and platform capabilities.
• Write and review code and personally resolve the most difficult technical failures across production systems and enterprise engagements.
• Translate field patterns into the organization's long-term technical vision and represent it to Product and Engineering leadership.
• Mentor, coach, hire, and calibrate senior and staff-level Forward Deployed Engineers.

Requirements

• 10+ years of relevant engineering experience with hands-on technical leadership in production systems and complex enterprise environments.
• Experience setting technical strategy and direction at an organizational level.
• Experience designing and directing production-grade integrations, platforms, or distributed systems across multiple engagements or teams.
• Excellent technical judgment in ambiguous situations and accountability for tradeoffs involving customer impact, speed, maintainability, and risk.
• Ability to influence VP- and executive-level stakeholders internally and at customer organizations.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% for executive engagements and technical reviews.

Nice to have

• Experience setting organizational technical strategy for LLMs, agent frameworks, retrieval, evaluation, or production AI systems.
• Previous experience as a Staff-level Forward Deployed Engineer.
• Experience contributing to organization-wide hiring bar-raising or leveling frameworks.
