VHF Consultant

Location: Tokyo, Japan; hybrid work with on-site airport duties and remote monitoring tasks

What you will do

• Maintain airport VHF systems through routine checks, troubleshooting, and performance monitoring.
• Support communication infrastructure for air-ground and ground-ground airport operations.
• Diagnose faults, interference, and signal degradation.
• Maintain antenna systems, transceivers, and related hardware.
• Coordinate with airport technical teams on operational support and incident resolution.
• Document maintenance activities, incidents, and system updates while supporting regulatory compliance.

Requirements

• Experience with VHF communication systems in aviation or critical infrastructure.
• Knowledge of RF fundamentals, including signal propagation, interference, and antenna behavior.
• Hands-on experience maintaining transceivers and antenna systems.
• Experience working in airport environments with strict safety and operational protocols.
• Strong technical documentation and reporting skills.
• Fluent Japanese and English; readiness for hybrid work and on-site airport duties.
