Corrosion Technician (Gas Infrastructure)

What you will do

• Monitor installation and maintenance of cathodic protection systems for gas facilities.
• Conduct testing and inspections to support compliance with federal and state corrosion regulations.
• Evaluate corrosion circuit records, rectifier notifications, maps, software records, and exception areas.
• Operate specialized corrosion instruments and collect field data in varied conditions.
• Troubleshoot cathodic protection systems and initiate corrective actions, work orders, permits, and notifications.
• Provide technical specifications, estimates, inspections, and oversight for corrosion contractors and gas construction teams.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to pass applicable Federal Operator Qualification tests and complete the required progression steps within three years.
• Understanding of electrical theory, basic chemistry, and corrosion theory.
• Knowledge of gas distribution operations, construction, federal and state corrosion-control codes, and work management systems.
• Ability to work independently and hold a valid motor vehicle operator’s license.
• External candidates must successfully complete the company-approved EEI CAST aptitude test.
