Senior Applied Scientist (AI)

What you will do

• Develop and improve LLMs, AI agents, and agentic tools for business applications using Python and open-source libraries.
• Design, implement, and evaluate machine learning solutions for complex applied problems and data sources.
• Build LLM-based services that enhance the developer experience across AWS Cloud9, the AWS IDE Toolkit, and AWS Bedrock.
• Own technical quality and modeling improvements for products used by scientists and engineers.
• Collaborate with software engineers and partner teams to move solutions into production and resolve technical blockers.
• Document and communicate research through internal documents, talks, demos, and potential external publications.

Requirements

• Enrolled in or have completed a PhD.
• Experience building models for business applications.
• Experience with patents or publications in top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals.
• Programming experience in Java, C++, Python, or a related language.
• Experience with algorithms and data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel and distributed computing, or high-performance computing.
• Experience with Data and AI technologies, including AI/ML, GenAI, analytics, databases, or storage.

Nice to have

• Experience using Unix/Linux.
• Professional software development experience.
