Supervisor, Electric Field Operations (Distribution Capital Construction)

Location: Newtown, Connecticut, with multiple possible locations across western Connecticut; travel between Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire is required. Field work takes place outdoors, at job sites and customer premises, as well as in an office environment.

Annual salary: $126,770–$140,850, with potential incentive eligibility.

What you will do

• Lead the safe execution of electric distribution and transmission field activities, including construction, operation, maintenance, and emergency restoration.
• Support large capital projects in western Connecticut by coordinating contractors, materials, schedules, logistics, and supporting departments.
• Prepare and manage switching orders, construction-ready job packages, material availability, and critical-path activities.
• Coordinate with Customer Care, Engineering, Warehousing/Transportation, Stations Operations, municipalities, telecommunications providers, other utilities, and external contractors.
• Manage and develop employees, set performance expectations, address issues, apply union agreements, and resolve grievances.
• Monitor work planning through closeout, maintain status reports and performance metrics, and participate in storm duty and rotational on-call coverage.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience.
• Five to ten years of related experience; experience in electric distribution and supervision is preferred.
• Working knowledge of safe construction, operation, and maintenance of electric T&D facilities and infrastructure at secondary and primary operating voltages.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, computer, and Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
• Must maintain switching and tagging qualifications.
• Valid motor vehicle license required; D.O.T. driver’s license and qualified lineman status preferred.
