Manager, Field Safety (Transmission & Distribution Projects)

Location: Berlin, Connecticut, United States. Travel between Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire is required, and emergency restoration assignments may occur outside normal working hours and location.

Annual salary: $146,660–$162,950, plus potential incentive.

What you will do

• Implement and improve safety management systems, programs, policies, and compliance practices for transmission and distribution capital projects.
• Manage contractor safety standards, oversight strategies, inspections, observations, and auditing programs.
• Deliver safety governance training and support human and operational performance initiatives.
• Investigate incidents, identify contributing factors, communicate lessons learned, and implement sustainable improvement plans.
• Analyze safety performance, incident, observation, event, and injury data to develop strategic solutions and manage resulting projects.
• Partner with operations leadership, safety committees, and unions while managing the TriState Safety Advisor team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Applied Sciences, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• 10–12 years of related experience, including at least 5 years in supervisory or managerial positions.
• Thorough knowledge of regulatory requirements for construction practices and electric operations.
• Knowledge of safety management systems, culture change practices, human organizational performance, and safe work procedures.
• Excellent oral, written, interpersonal, and project management skills.
• Applicants must not require immigration-related visa sponsorship to begin employment in the United States.

Nice to have

• CSP, ASP, CIH, CAIH, or equivalent certification.
• Experience in the energy sector or a comparable industry.
