Finance & Strategy, Machines (Manager)

Location: San Francisco, CA; hybrid policy requires staff to be in one of the offices at least 25% of the time

Annual salary: $325,000–$425,000 USD

What you will do

• Manage the finance function for chips and accelerators supporting AI model operations.
• Own the economics of chip and accelerator capacity, including cost per chip-hour and total cost of ownership across generations.
• Evaluate capacity offers and hardware commitments with compute deal teams.
• Own hardware forecasts covering delivery volumes, expenses, and cash flows.
• Build and manage the Machines finance team and coordinate forecast and close cycles.
• Partner with capacity planning, hardware engineering, accounting, treasury, and infrastructure FP&A.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in strategic finance, FP&A, or capacity/infrastructure finance.
• Experience owning hardware, semiconductor, or hyperscaler capacity economics.
• Experience managing or mentoring finance professionals.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to turn ambiguous structures into clear financial recommendations.
• Ability to partner with engineering and commercial teams under deal-timeline pressure.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training, or experience in a relevant field.
