Associate Civil Engineer (Transmission Line Engineering)

Location: Hartford, CT, with a hybrid schedule. Travel between Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire is required, including occasional to significant travel by car. Emergency restoration assignments may require work outside normal hours and locations.

Annual salary: $82,800–$92,000, plus potential incentive eligibility.

What you will do

• Design and analyze high-voltage and extra-high-voltage electric transmission lines.
• Prepare engineering drawings, specifications, reports, calculations, sketches, and cost estimates for transmission capital projects and maintenance support.
• Conduct engineering studies and complete non-routine projects with increasing scope and complexity.
• Plan, schedule, estimate, monitor, and independently manage engineering assignments and project interfaces.
• Coordinate with Transmission System Planning, Siting & Permitting, Project Management, Real Estate, vendors, and other functional groups.
• Support testimony and studies for Connecticut, Massachusetts, and other regulatory agencies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering preferred.
• 0–3 years of related experience required.
• Experience or ability to work with PLS-CADD, PLS-Pole, TOWER, L-Pile, MFAD, EPRI EMF Workstation, Mathcad, AutoCAD, and related software.
• Strong technical, analytical, oral, and written communication skills.
• Ability to travel as required and a valid driver’s license.
