Engineer I - Utility (Renewable Energy)

Location: Santa Fe Springs, California, United States. Primarily office-based onsite role with periodic field assignments and travel to project, vendor, or client sites of up to 30%.

Salary: $95,000–$120,000 per year, paid weekly.

What you will do

• Support the engineering, design, and development of utility-scale solar, BESS, and hybrid renewable energy projects.
• Develop bid-ready drawing packages and client documentation for power distribution, generator, UPS, and grounding systems.
• Develop and modify single-line diagrams, redline drawings, and maintain version control.
• Perform basic voltage-drop, conduit-sizing, cable-sizing, and preliminary fault-current calculations under guidance.
• Prepare quantity take-offs, support estimating, and document existing conditions during site audits.
• Coordinate with civil, CAD, procurement, construction, vendors, clients, and senior engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field preferred; an ABET-accredited engineering curriculum is preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience in electrical or renewable energy design; utility-scale experience is preferred.
• EIT certification preferred or in progress.
• Foundational knowledge of electrical design, engineering principles, construction practices, drawings, specifications, and datasheets.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and basic AutoCAD workflows; familiarity with NEC/CEC and local codes.
• Applicants must already be authorized to work in the United States for any employer; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Exposure to PVSyst and Title 24.
• Experience with utility-scale renewable energy projects.
• EIT certification or progress toward certification.
