Focus on updating procedures to reflect system and regulatory changes, analyzing operational events, interpreting electrical schematics, and supporting NERC and ISO-NE audits.

Location: Berlin, CT, United States; hybrid schedule with at least three days in the office, including Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Must be available for emergency restoration assignments and travel between Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire as needed.

Salary: $119,870–$133,190 annually, commensurate with experience, with potential incentive eligibility.

What you will do

  • Develop, revise, maintain, and publish detailed distribution system operating procedures and substation operating instructions.
  • Update procedures to reflect current system configurations, regulatory changes, NERC Reliability Standards, and ISO-NE requirements.
  • Coordinate with internal departments, ISO-NE, neighboring utilities, and member organizations to gather operational information.
  • Review procedures periodically for accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
  • Represent System Operations Procedures in meetings, committees, and industry forums.
  • Participate in event review teams, prepare incident analyses, and support compliance audits with documentation and evidence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five to eight years of experience in electric power distribution, transmission, or generation preferred.
  • Two years of System Operator experience and two years of procedure-writing experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of electric power system operations, system components, NERC standards, ISO-NE requirements, and document management systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematic diagrams, analyze problems, communicate clearly, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Eversource will not provide immigration-related visa sponsorship. A valid motor vehicle operator’s license is required.
