What you will do

• Design complete commercial and residential audiovisual systems, including switching, distribution, control, networked AV, and low-voltage technologies.
• Translate client requirements, site conditions, and technical objectives into system drawings, schematics, line diagrams, and build-ready documentation.
• Prepare bills of materials, technical proposals, estimates, and feasibility reviews in collaboration with sales and leadership.
• Apply AI tools to research, documentation, design workflows, and engineering process improvement.
• Coordinate with field teams to ensure designs are practical, buildable, and clearly communicated.

Requirements

• Proven experience designing AV systems from concept through complete, build-ready solutions.
• Strong knowledge of AV switching and distribution, control systems, and networked AV technologies.
• Experience with Extron and Control4 platforms.
• Proficiency with D-Tools, Visio, CAD software, or comparable AV design tools.
• Strong technical documentation, communication, organizational, and independent project management skills.
• Must be located on the East Coast of the United States and available for periodic travel.

Nice to have

• Commercial AV design experience in higher education, K-12, public sector, or similar environments.
• Q-SYS experience or certifications and Control4 programming experience.
• Knowledge of Lutron or other lighting control systems.
• Residential integration experience and experience using AI tools for engineering workflows.
