Buyer (MRO and Manufacturing Procurement)

What you will do

• Purchase MRO supplies and production commodities for manufacturing and engineering use or resale.
• Select suppliers, manage performance, and report quarterly KPIs.
• Run RFP, RFI, and RFQ processes and market-test materials by commodity.
• Develop supply contracts and release strategies to ensure consistent, timely deliveries.
• Negotiate competitive, cost-effective solutions and coordinate supplier site visits.
• Partner with engineering to develop commodity strategies, reduce the supplier base, achieve cost savings, and improve inventory turns.

Requirements

• Four-year degree in a business-related field preferred; an associate degree with relevant work experience may be considered.
• Ability to analyze data and identify cost changes and their business impact.
• Ability to communicate across organizational levels and in technical environments.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T specifications.
• Familiarity with CAD systems and supplier, engineering, and R&D collaboration.
• Strong customer service, problem-solving, communication, and continuous-learning skills.
