Strategic Buyer (Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Develop and execute multi-year category strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Lead strategic negotiations, contract development, RFQs, and long-term supplier agreements.
• Conduct market intelligence, commodity analysis, should-cost, and total-cost-of-ownership modeling.
• Drive supplier innovation, evaluations, audits, development programs, segmentation, and performance governance.
• Partner with Engineering, Operations, Quality, Finance, and Legal to optimize specifications, cost structures, and supplier consolidation.
• Assess geopolitical, financial, quality, and capacity risks while tracking savings, supplier performance, and strategy KPIs.

Requirements

• 3+ years of procurement or strategic sourcing experience in a manufacturing environment.
• 2+ years of contract negotiation and contract management experience.
• Experience with SAP or another MRP/ERP system, Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of TCO models, cost drivers, commodity analysis, and cross-functional sourcing projects.
• Ability to read engineering drawings or understand technical specifications, analyze data, and make independent strategic decisions.
• Commitment to safety procedures, OSHA regulations, accuracy, ownership, and attention to detail.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
