Field Application Scientist

Location: Remote role supporting the Southeast territory in Florida or North Carolina, USA. The position requires being based in the assigned city and includes 30–50% travel to customer sites, potentially four to five days per week.

Salary: $88,100–$134,375 annual base salary, plus potential discretionary or non-discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Educate, train, and support new and existing customers in MSD instrumentation, assays, software, and data analysis.
• Assist customers with assay troubleshooting, optimization, validation, and development on the MSD platform.
• Evaluate new instrument opportunities and support applications across inflammation, oncology, metabolic disorders, neuroscience, immunogenicity, pharmacokinetics, toxicology, and bioproduction.
• Collaborate with account managers, sales, and marketing teams to resolve customer issues and expand instrument and consumable sales.
• Attend scientific meetings, conferences, trade shows, and customer visits; deliver seminars and scientific presentations as needed.
• Document customer interactions, assay evaluations, reports, and field feedback in Salesforce.com while monitoring competitor technologies and relevant literature.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in life sciences or a related field; a master's or bachelor's degree with equivalent experience may be considered.
• At least three years of hands-on experience in a molecular biology, clinical, discovery, or biochemistry laboratory in a research or clinical setting.
• Strong understanding of immunoassay principles, development, and applications across research fields.
• Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, organizational, written, verbal, and presentation skills.
• Professional interpersonal skills for customer interaction and the ability to work outside normal business hours and travel regularly.
• Must be based in the assigned Southeast territory in Florida or North Carolina, USA.
