Postdoc in Regional Geology (Saharan Platform)

Location: Must be based in or be able to relocate to Delft, Netherlands

What you will do

• Generate new regional maps of past vertical movements and source-to-sink systems.
• Examine Paleozoic unconformities and quantify vertical movements within them.
• Plan and conduct field missions in North Africa for sample collection.
• Integrate existing datasets with new thermochronology data.
• Test regional models using Landscape Evolution Modelling.
• Collaborate with the North Africa Research Group and contribute to scientific publications.

Requirements

• PhD in regional geology (or completion within one year).
• Ability to obtain a visa for travel to North African countries (e.g., Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia).
• Extensive fieldwork experience.
• Proven publication record with at least one peer-reviewed article.
• Willingness to conduct fieldwork in the Saharan Desert.

Nice to have

• Experience with Landscape Evolution Modelling.
• Experience with Low-Temperature Thermochronology or geochronology.
• Experience with Source-to-Sink analysis.
