Senior API Integration Engineer (AI)

Location: On-site in Sunnyvale, CA or San Francisco, CA, United States

Salary: $165,000–$200,000 annually plus bonus and Restricted Stock Units

What you will do

• Architect and build enterprise-grade integrations and intelligent workflow automation using the Workato ONE platform.
• Design, develop, and maintain API integrations across ERP, CRM, HCM, finance, and other business-critical systems.
• Establish reusable integration patterns, frameworks, governance standards, monitoring, alerting, and incident-response practices.
• Partner with business and IT stakeholders to gather requirements, lead discovery sessions, assess ROI, and translate needs into scalable solutions.
• Lead integration initiatives from concept through deployment, including sprint execution, technical reviews, and delivery accountability.
• Provide senior-level escalation support and collaborate with software engineering teams on internal tools and automation.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience as an API Developer or Integration Engineer in enterprise environments.
• 3+ years of hands-on production experience with Workato, preferably Workato ONE.
• Advanced experience with Workato recipes, error handling, monitoring, batch processing, custom connectors, SDK development, and API collections.
• Experience integrating enterprise SaaS platforms across HCM, ERP, CRM, finance, or similar domains.
• Strong knowledge of EAI/SOA patterns, iPaaS architectures, REST APIs, webhooks, JSON/XML, OAuth 2.0, SAML, SOAP, RBAC, and API security.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum, Jira/JSM, Confluence, CI/CD, HR data models, GDPR, SOC 2, and secure handling of sensitive PII.

Nice to have

• Workato Foundations or Integration Developer certification.
• Experience with MuleSoft, Boomi, Informatica, or native integration tooling for enterprise SaaS platforms.
• Background in HR technology consulting or HRIS implementations.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, GCP, infrastructure-as-code, identity, or SSO integrations.
• Experience in high-growth or highly regulated environments.
