Sr. Environmental Sustainability Engineer

Location: US - Vacaville, CA; fully site-based

Salary: $142,500–$237,500 base annual salary, plus a performance-related bonus

What you will do

• Develop and execute the site sustainability roadmap and translate corporate commitments into measurable site-level initiatives.
• Lead greenhouse gas reduction strategies, business cases, energy optimization, electrification, renewable energy, and low-carbon technology projects.
• Manage a sustainability project portfolio through technical evaluation, prioritization, capital planning, and investment recommendations.
• Oversee sustainability data collection, analysis, metrics, dashboards, and internal and external reporting aligned with GRI, SDGs, and SBTi frameworks.
• Represent the site in the global ESG network and collaborate with Engineering, Facilities, Operations, EHS, Finance, Corporate Sustainability, and site leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering, or Environmental Science with significant engineering experience.
• Experience in strategic sustainability planning, roadmap development, and project portfolio management.
• Experience with corporate ESG reporting and/or sustainability programs.
• Technical understanding of energy systems, utilities, water stewardship, waste reduction, emissions reduction, and decarbonization solutions.
• Ability to quantify environmental impact, business value, and return on investment for sustainability opportunities.
• Strong analytical, communication, collaboration, and stakeholder-influencing skills.
