Manager - Technical Training

Location: Full-time remote in the United States or local/hybrid work in Lakewood, Colorado; travel typically ranges from 15–25% and includes periodic field engagement.

Salary: $145,000–$175,000 per year

What you will do

• Establish the operating model, governance, roadmap, priorities, and success measures for a new technical training and development function.
• Assess workforce capabilities and talent gaps, then build development pathways linked to project readiness, staffing, career progression, retention, and succession.
• Partner with technical subject-matter experts and instructional designers to create classroom and lab content, simulations, curricula, playbooks, job aids, and assessments.
• Coordinate instructors, mentors, reviewers, project leaders, and cross-functional workstreams to scale technical knowledge and improve delivery quality.
• Measure outcomes including time to readiness, demonstrated proficiency, quality performance, staffing flexibility, rework reduction, and senior-expert capacity.
• Support the development and commercialization of client academies, capability assessments, advisory services, licensed content, and industry partnerships.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
• Six or more years of progressive experience in technical capability development, workforce development, organizational development, program management, business operations, professional services, or a related field.
• Demonstrated success building or significantly expanding a cross-functional program, operating model, or organizational capability from concept through implementation.
• Strong business acumen, program leadership, communication, and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to translate complex technical and business needs into measurable plans.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States is required.

Nice to have

• Experience in power, energy, utility, infrastructure, engineering, construction, or technical professional-services industries.
• Experience with competency frameworks, role-based development pathways, applied learning programs, knowledge management, or structured assessment.
• Experience in rapidly growing, geographically distributed, newly integrated, or acquisition-driven organizations.
• Experience with client-facing programs, advisory services, commercial learning solutions, or licensed content.
