TL;DR
Supervisor, System Operations Training Simulation (Electric Power): Developing and delivering transmission and distribution system operator training across CT, MA, and NH with an accent on simulation technology, performance-based instruction, and regulatory compliance. Focus on designing simulator-based training, evaluating operational procedures and emergencies, and coordinating training systems across utility operations.

Location: Manchester, NH, United States; hybrid schedule requiring at least three days in the office, including Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with availability to work up to five days onsite. Travel between Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire is required.

Salary: $136,220–$151,350 annually, plus potential incentive.

What you will do

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate system operations training using simulation technology.
  • Plan, schedule, and deliver classroom, online, on-the-job, conceptual, and hands-on training for system operators.
  • Coordinate the acquisition, configuration, updating, and use of simulation technologies with internal and external personnel.
  • Evaluate training requests, procedures, practices, regulatory changes, and vendor-provided content.
  • Represent System Operations Training in meetings, committees, and conferences.
  • Support emergency response coordination, event review teams, and incident analyses when requested.

Requirements

  • 10 years of related experience in electric power distribution, transmission, or generation.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of electric transmission and distribution operations, switching and tagging procedures, EMS, SCADA, OMS, and electrical schematic diagrams.
  • Thorough knowledge of NERC Reliability Standards, OSHA regulations, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Strong presentation, written and oral communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid motor vehicle operator’s license and NERC Transmission Operator or higher certification, or the ability to obtain it within six months.

Nice to have

  • Four years of experience as a System Operator.
  • Three years of experience as a trainer in a formalized training program.
  • One year of experience creating or administering simulator-based training.
  • Knowledge of the Systematic Approach to Training, instructional design, adult learning principles, learning management systems, and presentation technologies.
