Design Engineer 3 (Electronic Security Systems)

Location: Virtual, USA; travel to active job sites may be required.

What you will do

• Lead complex commercial electronic security system design projects from initial sales concepts through construction administration.
• Develop specifications, system requirements, budgets, timelines, bills of materials, wiring diagrams, schematics, and backboard layouts.
• Create 30%, 60%, 90%, 100% IFC, and shop drawings using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Design and document access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and vehicle gate systems.
• Review drawings for quality, scope, schedule compliance, and required design changes.
• Collaborate with clients, vendors, architects, engineers, and cross-functional teams while mentoring junior design engineers.

Requirements

• Associate degree or equivalent experience.
• 5–7+ years of experience in electronic security systems design, integration, or engineering.
• Experience leading engineering efforts in access control, video surveillance, and intrusion detection.
• Strong knowledge of system integration, project engineering processes, technical governance, and cross-functional coordination.
• Experience with enterprise networking, IP-based electronic security architecture, AutoCAD, BIM, and Revit.
• Strong organization, communication, documentation, analytical, coaching, and team leadership skills.

Nice to have

• Two or more years of team leadership or engineering management experience.
• Familiarity with Lenel, CCure, Honeywell, Brivo, Milestone, ExacqVision, Eagle Eye, Axis, and Hanwha.
• Access control or video surveillance certifications, such as Lenel OnGuard or Milestone.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary technical teams and enterprise-scale project delivery.
