Director of Construction

Location: AMER; ability to travel across multiple active project sites and regions is required.

Salary: $160,000–$200,000 USD base, plus potential bonus, equity, and/or commission.

What you will do

• Lead on-site execution teams delivering data center programs from preconstruction through room delivery, commissioning, and turnover.
• Manage Senior Managers across active programs or regions and establish consistent execution, reporting, and quality standards.
• Coordinate Design & Engineering, Procurement, Legal, Security, Environmental, Commissioning, Controls, and Operations functions.
• Approve budgets, major change orders, and contingency draws while reporting cost and schedule performance to the VP of Construction.
• Standardize preconstruction, construction, commissioning, and turnover playbooks across the portfolio.
• Recruit, mentor, and develop program leadership while managing succession planning and portfolio-level risk.

Requirements

• 10+ years of construction management, development, engineering, or owner's-representation experience, including 5+ years with mission-critical data center or large-scale industrial programs.
• Owner-side responsibility for major design and construction decisions across concurrent sites or regions.
• Experience managing Senior Managers or equivalent regional program leaders.
• Knowledge of electrical and mechanical construction practices and codes including NFPA and NEC.
• Strong program scheduling, cost control, contract administration, risk management, and executive communication skills.
• Procore, Bluebeam Revu, Microsoft Office Suite, and OSHA 30 certification required.

Nice to have

• Experience standardizing construction processes or design standards across multiple regions.
• Hyperscale, colocation, or Tier III/IV data center construction experience.
• Long-lead MEP procurement and jurisdictional permitting experience.
• PMP, CCM, DBIA, or PE license, or equivalent field experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
