AI Engineer

Location: Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Hybrid Flex Work requires spending at least 50% of each quarter in the office or in the field with customers, prospects, and partners.

Base pay range: CAD 180,200–270,200 for the primary Vancouver location; the primary Canada base pay range is CAD 138,000–208,000.

What you will do

• Design and build core machine learning systems for production-grade AI agents.
• Develop LLM-powered agent frameworks, including RAG pipelines, workflow orchestration, evaluation, and feedback loops.
• Own the lifecycle from problem framing and data strategy through deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
• Build scalable and observable services for hosting machine learning models in production.
• Partner with software engineers, product managers, and data scientists to integrate agents into the hirify.global platform.
• Apply emerging agentic architecture techniques to create reliable, explainable, and enterprise-ready systems.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building and taking applied machine learning products through research, design, implementation, production, and production-based evaluation.
• 2+ years of professional experience with machine learning and deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• 3+ years of experience building services that host machine learning models in production at scale.
• 1+ year of experience with large language models, text generation models, or graph neural network models in real-world applications.
• 3+ years of experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS or GCP.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, physics, mathematics, or an equivalent field; a Master’s degree or PhD is preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI, LLMs, RAG, autonomous agents, and orchestration frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of statistical analysis, supervised and unsupervised machine learning, and natural language processing for information retrieval or recommendation systems.
• Experience independently solving ambiguous problems and technically leading teams.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills across teams and stakeholders.
