AI Engineer

Location: Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Hybrid Flex Work requires spending at least 50% of each quarter in the office or in the field with customers, prospects, and partners.

Salary: CAD 180,200–270,200 base pay range for the Vancouver location; primary Canadian base pay range is CAD 138,000–208,000.

What you will do

• Design and build core machine learning systems for production AI agents.
• Develop LLM-powered agent frameworks, including RAG pipelines, workflow orchestration, evaluation, and feedback loops.
• Own the ML lifecycle from problem framing and data strategy through deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
• Build scalable services for hosting machine learning models in production.
• Partner with software engineers, product managers, and data scientists to integrate agents into the hirify.global platform.
• Apply agentic architectures and engineering practices to create reliable, explainable, and observable systems.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building applied machine learning products at scale across research, design, implementation, production, and evaluation.
• 2+ years of professional experience with machine learning and deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• 3+ years of experience building production services that host machine learning models at scale.
• 1+ year of experience with large language models, text generation models, or graph neural networks in real-world applications.
• 3+ years of experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS or GCP.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, physics, mathematics, or an equivalent field; advanced degrees are preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience with NLP for information retrieval or recommendation systems.
• Strong knowledge of supervised and unsupervised machine learning algorithms and statistical analysis.
• Experience independently solving ambiguous problems and technically leading teams.
• Knowledge of current developments in AI, LLMs, RAG, autonomous agents, and orchestration frameworks.
