Senior Forward Deployed AI Engineer

Location: Remote, Canada. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada and must not require employer sponsorship for a work visa.

Base salary: CAD 140,000–160,000 per year, depending on experience and geographic location.

What you will do

• Embed with clinical, product, and operations teams and own AI solutions from intake through production release and monitoring.
• Set validation standards, define acceptance criteria, and run offline and online evaluations before deployment.
• Build agentic capabilities including tool and function calling, RAG, MCP integrations, multi-step orchestration, and human-in-the-loop checkpoints.
• Architect solutions on the shared AI platform using model serving, AWS Bedrock foundation-model contracts, evaluation tooling, monitoring, tool registries, and prompt guardrails.
• Apply AI intake and risk categorization processes with Regulatory, Privacy, and Legal sign-off.
• Contribute reusable templates, registered tools, and reference architectures while raising AI fluency through design reviews and office hours.

Requirements

• Six or more years of experience building and delivering product-grade software, including AI-powered features in production.
• Experience with LLMs and/or imaging, including tool calling, RAG, or agent orchestration.
• Strong Python skills, full-stack development experience, and practical cloud engineering and deployment experience.
• Experience with APIs, deployment, evaluation frameworks, acceptance criteria, and human-in-the-loop design.
• Ability to evaluate models, reason about failure modes, define validation bars, and collaborate with clinical, product, and engineering stakeholders.
• Must be legally authorized to work in Canada at the time of hire and must not require current or future visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience in regulated, clinical, healthcare-data, or PHI environments, including FDA, Health Canada, or ISO 13485 contexts.
• AWS and Bedrock experience.
• MCP or experience building tool and function interfaces for other teams.
• Consulting, solutions architecture, or forward-deployed experience.
