MCP/AI Developer

Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada; in-person onboarding and/or identity verification may be required.

Salary: CAD 99,000–145,200 annual base salary for Canada-based roles; offers may exceed this range.

What you will do

• Implement and maintain clean, well-tested MCP tools, agentic features, and supporting front-end and back-end services.
• Integrate LLMs and models through APIs and SDKs to deliver agentic workflows while managing correctness, latency, and cost.
• Build workflow guardrails, including human-in-the-loop steps, traceability, and clear error handling.
• Contribute to automated tests, AI behavior evaluation harnesses, CI/CD pipelines, and developer tooling.
• Debug agent and tool logic, APIs, and web UI while collaborating with senior engineers and QA.
• Work with Product and UX to translate requirements into technical tasks and identify risks and blockers.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, bachelor's degree with 3+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent practical experience.
• Hands-on software development experience in a mainstream language, with TypeScript or JavaScript preferred.
• Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and a modern web framework such as React.
• Understanding of testing, debugging, code review, Git, pull requests, branches, and collaborative workflows.
• Exposure to LLMs or AI APIs, such as prompting, model or agent APIs, or simple agentic/RAG features.
• Agile experience, strong problem-solving skills, and strong written and spoken English.

Nice to have

• Node.js back-end development and RESTful APIs.
• Model Context Protocol, agent frameworks, or tool-calling experience.
• AWS, Docker, GitHub Actions, cloud, CI/CD, and observability experience.
• Foundational knowledge of embeddings, vector search/RAG, and model evaluation.
• 2D/3D rendering, visualization, graphics, WebGL, or WebGPU experience.
