Software Engineer III - Visual AI Technology (AI)

Location: Toronto, Canada; hybrid work with office attendance three times per week and scheduled collaboration at the Boston office up to four times per year. Core hours are 9am–5pm EST.

Annual base salary: CAD 192,047–211,914, with potential additional equity, bonuses, commissions, and other compensation.

What you will do

• Own technical decisions across multiple components of the Visual AI Technology codebase and systems.
• Design, build, deploy, and maintain scalable, resilient microservices that integrate external APIs and internal ML models.
• Develop core APIs, ML infrastructure, frameworks, and self-service environments for automated visual content pipelines.
• Containerize applications with Docker and manage Kubernetes services, pods, ConfigMaps, and secrets.
• Identify reusable patterns, improve multiple system components, and solve ambiguous engineering problems autonomously.
• Collaborate with product, design, analytics, and adjacent engineering teams to deliver measurable impact.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of machine learning fundamentals and experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Scikit-learn.
• Experience with fine-tuning or serving large models, including LLMs or diffusion models, and using ML service APIs.
• Strong Python skills; familiarity with FastAPI or Flask is beneficial.
• Experience with cloud platforms, REST or GraphQL APIs, authentication, testing, CI/CD, and production observability.
• Experience with ML data preprocessing and structured and unstructured data such as images, text, and video.
• Experience with data storage technologies such as GCS, PostgreSQL, BigQuery, or MongoDB, plus React and frontend state management.

Nice to have

• Model optimization or quantization, ML lifecycle management, or GPU-enabled Kubernetes workloads.
• DevOps experience with Terraform, Helm, or ArgoCD.
• Experience with 3D content pipelines, architectural visualization, games, or VFX workflows.
• Experience building React interfaces for ML-powered tools with secure backend API and authentication integration.
