Senior Software Engineer II - Agentic Intelligence (AI)

Location: Remote - Canada

Base salary: $250,000–$280,000 CAD per year, based on experience level.

What you will do

• Design, build, ship, and maintain production-grade AI agents that investigate, reason over, and act on live observability data in Canvas.
• Take agent concepts from prototypes through production traffic while maintaining reliability and trustworthiness during high-pressure incidents.
• Own agent evaluations and define measurable standards for quality, maintainability, and system limitations.
• Extend Canvas, the hirify.global MCP server, and Canvas Skills with memory, spatial awareness, faster Bedrock loops, and new agent capabilities.
• Use high-cardinality observability data to correlate services, investigate traces, and compare system behavior before and after deployments.
• Contribute to fullstack product development and help determine the next product capabilities through working prototypes.

Requirements

• Professional experience shipping LLM-based and agent-based systems that people relied on in production.
• Ability to own the full engineering lifecycle from rough prototype to production-grade implementation.
• Deep understanding of agent architecture and how high-cardinality data affects agent reasoning.
• Strong product judgment and the ability to validate ideas with working code.
• Must be located in Canada for this remote role.
• Existing work authorization is required; visa sponsorship and visa transfers are not available.

Nice to have

• Observability or developer-tools experience.
• Familiarity with evaluation frameworks, agent tooling, RAG, and prompt engineering.
