TL;DR
Sr. Technical Specialist - Avionics & Control Products (Avionics and aerospace testing): Testing, troubleshooting, and delivering avionics for reusable rocket engines with an accent on shock, vibration, thermal, and EMI test campaigns. Focus on integrating electronics and software in test environments, analyzing test data, and maintaining calibration and AS9100 compliance.

Location: Greater Seattle Area, Washington, United States

Salary: $124,476.00–$174,265.35 base pay range for Washington applicants; other site ranges may differ.

What you will do

  • Set up, integrate, execute, and review avionics tests, including shock, vibration, thermal, and EMI campaigns.
  • Coordinate with technicians during test campaign execution.
  • Support open-box and card-to-card testing in the development environment.
  • Check out and troubleshoot electronic assemblies, test equipment, data acquisition systems, and instrumentation.
  • Create, review, and release test work orders; analyze test data, generate reports, and disposition anomalies with design, test, and quality engineering.
  • Maintain equipment calibration, facility readiness, and compliance with AS9100 and internal quality requirements.

Requirements

  • Two-year associate degree in electrical or electronic engineering technology.
  • At least eight years of industry experience with electrical or electromechanical assemblies.
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, and written assembly procedures.
  • Proficiency with standard electronic laboratory testing and troubleshooting equipment.
  • Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills, with attention to detail and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Applicants must be U.S. citizens or nationals, U.S. permanent residents, or lawfully admitted refugees or asylees.

Nice to have

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
  • Working knowledge of EMI/EMC testing using MIL-STD-461 methods.
  • Knowledge of digital and analog circuits, computers, microprocessors, and networks.
  • Experience with configuration management and digital work order tools such as Windchill and JIRA.
  • IPC-A-610 or J-STD-001 certification, or experience with NASA workmanship standards.
