Senior Professional Services Engineer (Distributed Systems)

Location: United States — Remote Opportunity

Base salary: $160,000–$200,000, depending on qualifications and location; compensation includes an 85/15 base-salary and variable split, plus equity eligibility.

hirify.global builds open-source workflow orchestration technology designed to make applications more reliable and simplify software development.

What you will do

• Deliver production-ready hirify.global implementations by co-building initial workflows with customer and partner engineering teams.
• Implement and teach safe workflow patterns covering retries, timeouts, heartbeats, determinism, and versioning.
• Help customers deploy and operate hirify.global Server in cloud and self-hosted environments, including worker scaling, upgrades, failure handling, and capacity planning.
• Define observability and reliability standards through metrics, alerts, dashboards, runbooks, templates, examples, and documentation.
• Lead hands-on workshops and training that enable customer and partner engineers to operate systems independently.
• Own complex technical delivery issues end to end and provide product and engineering feedback based on real-world implementation patterns.

Requirements

• Experience delivering and operating production systems where reliability and incident response matter.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, failure modes, scaling tradeoffs, and operational safety.
• Hands-on coding ability in at least one major language such as Go, Java, Python, or TypeScript.
• Experience deploying and operating production services in cloud or self-hosted environments.
• Ability to design and communicate operational standards, including on-call readiness, runbooks, and capacity planning.
• Strong customer communication, debugging, teaching, and ambiguity-navigation skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with workflow orchestration, distributed task processing, or durable execution.
• Experience building observability programs, reusable reference architectures, templates, or enablement programs.
• Background in partner collaboration or services delivery models at scale.
