Forward Deployed Engineer (AI)

Location: New York City, NY; San Francisco, CA; or Seattle, WA. Hybrid policy requires staff to work from one of the offices at least 25% of the time. Customer-site travel may be required, estimated at 25% depending on location.

What you will do

• Embed with strategic enterprise customers and build production applications using Claude models.
• Deliver production-ready technical artifacts, including MCP servers, sub-agents, and agent skills.
• Provide deployment support for Anthropic products in enterprise environments.
• Identify repeatable deployment patterns and share implementation insights with Product and Engineering.
• Build customer relationships and identify new opportunities for AI deployment throughout engagements.
• Track developments in LLM capabilities, implementation patterns, and AI product development stacks.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in a technical, customer-facing role, Forward Deployed Engineering, software engineering with consulting experience, or a comparable background.
• Production experience with LLMs, advanced prompt engineering, agent development, evaluation frameworks, and deployment at scale.
• Strong programming skills in Python and experience shipping production applications.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity, collaborate across organizations, and balance competing priorities.
• Strong communication skills for customer discovery and explaining technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training, and experience in a relevant field.

Nice to have

• Experience in financial services, healthcare, life sciences, or another enterprise vertical.
• Experience with enterprise IT systems, AI deployment patterns, FDE work, or professional services.
• Experience with TypeScript, Java, or another additional programming language.
