Forward Deployed Engineer (AI)

Location: New York City; hybrid, typically in-office 3–4 days per week

Salary: Senior Engineer: $190,000–$250,000 per year plus equity; Staff Engineer: $240,000–$280,000 per year plus equity

What you will do

• Lead technical implementation and integration efforts for enterprise clients deploying AI-driven compliance solutions.
• Work with client technical teams to understand infrastructure, security requirements, and compliance needs.
• Design and implement scalable ETL pipelines integrating data from internal customer systems.
• Map ambiguous customer business data into structured data models used to implement tailored business logic.
• Develop client-specific platform customizations, technical documentation, and enablement sessions for end-users.
• Collaborate with legal engineering teams to translate regulatory requirements into practical technical solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or an equivalent field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 4+ years of production experience writing Python or similar languages.
• 1+ year of experience in a technical, client-facing enterprise role such as Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer, or Forward Deployed Engineer.
• Experience building ETL data pipelines and mapping customer data into coherent data models with customer subject-matter experts.
• Experience developing APIs, including with libraries such as FastAPI, and working with PostgreSQL or a similar database.
• Practical, hands-on AI usage in daily work and the ability to discuss AI tools, workflows, and outcomes during interviews.

Nice to have

• Experience with React, TypeScript, and Next.js.
• Experience with Dagster or Apache Airflow.
• Startup experience and comfort handling highly ambiguous requirements.
